“I learn how to love and it’s a terrible thing. It hurts. My heart hurts.”

Lust- You Who Came From the Stars
Because everyone wanted an extension to the supposedly 20-episodes-long series. So it got extended.  There was even a short extended epilogue to its finale, that (successfully) pacified some lustful audiences. You know what they say, some things are meant not to be said, in this case, to be seen. Likewise,  it would have been more discreet to keep their romance as secret and allow the audiences’ imagination do the work.

“To you who used to eat a lot of rice because you are lonely…

To you who sleeps a lot because you are bored…

To you who cries a lot because you are sad…

I write this down.

Chew on your feelings that are cornered like you would chew on rice.

Anyway, Life is……something that you need to digest.”

Gluttony- Let’s Eat
Being one of its faithful sinner, when it first premiered, I was so excited by this promising plot. But eventually I stopped at the 3rd episode, not because there was too much food. But the story itself was plainly not my taste.

“I do politics to save life, not to end lives.”

Greed- Secret Door
If only Prince Sado did not die that way.

“People I know run from injustice, and hurt others to protect themselves. But you’re different from the people I know.”

Sloth- High School Love On
If it wasn’t because of the format – one episode per week, it would be labelled as one of my top listed drama. Anyway, I did really cry a river throughout this series. Definitely a heart-touching and warm drama.

“Feeling embarrassed is for people who did something wrong. You didn’t do anything wrong, so there is no reason for you to feel embarrassed. You should rather feel proud. You created your own destiny and now you’ve become a great woman.”

Wrath- Joseon Gunman
Everyone is filled with anger and eagerness to take revenge, except for that king. Everyone should have just aimed their rifles at him.

Envy-The Night Watchman
I anticipated a lot from Jung il Woo, especially after his previous huge disappointing drama (Golden Rainbow). Somehow I think it’s because KBS has brought the audiences Joseon Gunman, so feeling the competition, MBC decides to give us this at last minute.

Because I am afraid to be happy. My family… They ended up like that because of me. How could I be happy? It’s not that I won’t answer. It’s that I can’t.

Pride (And Prejudice)
Prosecutors and lawyers never did impress me. Since it is still an on-going project, so let’s just sit back, relax and see what the producers can provide us with.

The Heirs -Ep 19

I really liked the fluff in this episode; it made me wish that Kim Tan had always been this interesting and cute. My hopes for The Heirs went progressively up since the first episode but overall, it has not liven up my expectations. Not the chemistry between the two puppy lovers, or the bromance, or the friendship between Kim Tan and Young Do. Aside from these ridiculous disappointments, I guess this is the best episode since the one where Kim Tan had an intense kiss with Eun Sang.

1. The OTP. There were sweet moments but not many, and that makes it subtle and not overloaded. The over-possessive and stalkerish Kim Tan we were given had finally decided to become more understanding and matured. Although I wished Lee Min Ho hadn’t selected such a poor project (Personal Taste was the best), I guess we should just point the blaming finger at the writers and Director.

2. If only this complicated conflict had occured earlier and made as the main focal point of the drama, then we would all have been more excited. Sighsss…..it all came in too late and all we could do is give a big big BIG sigh of disappointment again.

3. Another problem about this drama is that the majority are more interested in Young Do’s affairs than Kim Tan’s and I must say, he deserves it. Just one thing…..I am a little bit worried that he will always end up as the losing side when it comes to romance. Does he not reminds us of Jung il Woo? He has already lost in To The Beautiful You…..so here’s a plead to writers, please please please don’t select him for this kind of character again. *puppy eyes*

4. Aside from all the disappointments, the sense of humour in this episode is quite catchy and entertaining. So I would give a thumbs up to this part….but if we were to compare this to Prime Minister and I, then it would lose easily.

I think I’ve found the message of the drama: your life and that of those around you will suck until you fall in love. This family went through 18 years of angst and rivalries, and Tan falling in love with ES solved every failed relationship in his life in a couple of months. YD fell for ES and went from complete psychopath to a very decent person.

Let’s just hope for the best in the last episode tonight. Amen!
