Since I have already expressed the bottled feelings from the bottom of my heart last night, I will let the pictures do the job on this faithful day. But for the least, let’s wish him a joyful and happy birthday and if you may, I would appreciate your gratitude in pouring more love in their music productions in the coming years.

P/S: My friend told me that I was armified. Like literally. A.R.M.Y

A Valid Love

Screen Shot 2014-12-24 at 5.15.41 PM

When it first premiered, I quickly dismissed it for its lack of sense for romance and hot guys. Forget about the mushy and lovey-dovey scenes. I must admit that I am becoming more desperate for eye-candy actors lately, especially after getting myself obsessed with old, veteran actors from Secret Door. It was a bad decision- to think Valid Love is not valid enough as a romance drama, because I thought Pride and Prejudice was more promising among all for the Monday-Tuesday drama slot. Thankfully, it didn’t take me long to realise my mistake. Just what heroic contribution did I do to deserve such fortune? Heh

But then again, I started off at the wrong episode, wrong perceptions and wrong reviews. Everyone was complaining how Jang Hee Tae is a boring, demanding husband who lacks of understanding towards his wife. Then, there was his mother who did all the villain parts, and showed us how il Ri should just divorce his husband and stop becoming this family’s abusing object. What is there to reject when there is a heartthrob guy who is about your age and can open your heart when you choose to keep your feelings to yourself. Because everything seemed to be so wrong all at the same time and place, for this poor woman, I was convinced that her husband was surely a bastard. I just quietly allow the reviews eat my soul away.

Did I mention how the drama’s plot beautifully picture the situation that someone I am close to is facing now? Gender equality is what feminists want and wish to achieve. Extramarital affair is what fanatic feminists think it is okay to do. Worst, we have fans shipping for the forbidden love in this drama. And honestly speaking, I am one of them. But hey, what’s drama for again?

Anyway, if you happen to be an underage, innocent child reading this post, please do understand that love is love and marriage is marriage. For as far as I understand, feelings are neither right nor wrong. But having an affair while being married with a spouse is morally wrong. Very very wrong. So, if you are wondering which side you should be in this controversial topic, take my advice to follow Hee Soo noona. She is after all the only one who makes sense in this show.

So, in the end, it was the hyperventilating scene that captured my attention. I even attempted to act out that moment, because I was very curious if it does actually help this kind of trauma. Well, I just need a bigger palm, y’know.

Quotes again:

” How could I suspect my wife over just a few photos, after being married with her for 7 years? ” By Jung Hee Tae in Episode 8.

That moment when you woke up from insobriety, only to realise that it was your crush who carried your heavy ass back home, you only understood that there was no going back into time. So let’s hashtag all those regretful feelings cornered at your heart.

“Please turn yourself in.” “Let me be the one to fight her”

Heroic scenes will only and be only existed in drama.

“Just give up on me, so that you can fight my mother properly.”

While in reality, it’s not really that easy to give up on your crush, especially on the feelings you hold towards her (since high school). She is probably trying to lie to herself deep inside, attempting to convince herself that she is able to stand watching him do that on her.

MUACKS!

So I am back for recapping after live-streamed K-drama. Have you all been anticipating this episode and my comeback? It has been a year and I sincerely hope my understanding towards the Korean language has improved a bit. *finger-crossed*

Seven Deadly Sins

“I learn how to love and it’s a terrible thing. It hurts. My heart hurts.”

Lust- You Who Came From the Stars
Because everyone wanted an extension to the supposedly 20-episodes-long series. So it got extended.  There was even a short extended epilogue to its finale, that (successfully) pacified some lustful audiences. You know what they say, some things are meant not to be said, in this case, to be seen. Likewise,  it would have been more discreet to keep their romance as secret and allow the audiences’ imagination do the work.

“To you who used to eat a lot of rice because you are lonely…

To you who sleeps a lot because you are bored…

To you who cries a lot because you are sad…

I write this down.

Chew on your feelings that are cornered like you would chew on rice.

Anyway, Life is……something that you need to digest.”

Gluttony- Let’s Eat
Being one of its faithful sinner, when it first premiered, I was so excited by this promising plot. But eventually I stopped at the 3rd episode, not because there was too much food. But the story itself was plainly not my taste.

secret door ep 2

“I do politics to save life, not to end lives.”

Greed- Secret Door
If only Prince Sado did not die that way.

hslo2_25-e1405708310869

“People I know run from injustice, and hurt others to protect themselves. But you’re different from the people I know.”

Sloth- High School Love On
If it wasn’t because of the format – one episode per week, it would be labelled as one of my top listed drama. Anyway, I did really cry a river throughout this series. Definitely a heart-touching and warm drama.

lee-jun-ki-joseon-gunman

“Feeling embarrassed is for people who did something wrong. You didn’t do anything wrong, so there is no reason for you to feel embarrassed. You should rather feel proud. You created your own destiny and now you’ve become a great woman.”

Wrath- Joseon Gunman
Everyone is filled with anger and eagerness to take revenge, except for that king. Everyone should have just aimed their rifles at him.

Envy-The Night Watchman
I anticipated a lot from Jung il Woo, especially after his previous huge disappointing drama (Golden Rainbow). Somehow I think it’s because KBS has brought the audiences Joseon Gunman, so feeling the competition, MBC decides to give us this at last minute.

Because I am afraid to be happy. My family… They ended up like that because of me. How could I be happy? It’s not that I won’t answer. It’s that I can’t.

Pride (And Prejudice)
Prosecutors and lawyers never did impress me. Since it is still an on-going project, so let’s just sit back, relax and see what the producers can provide us with.

Healer & Pinocchio

“My cellphone has exactly 3 numbers. Ahjumma, my worker and my favourite chicken delivery. Classmates, friends? I don’t keep those. I don’t understand why I would need any of them.”

With Secret Door beautifully wrapped up with a questionable ending, I thought it’s about time I search high and low for a new drama to fill up my free time. Although Pinocchio has started out as an interesting series, but having watched Can You Hear My Voice previously, I no longer think the plot brought out by the same writer and producers can grasp my attention. Yes, there will be nostalgia and that old sense of feeling lingering around, but that will just be reminiscences for us to hold on. And what are K-dramas for? To bring out the fresh feeling of not knowing what to expect in each episode. So I got into Healer in the end, and I have to say it is not bad at all. The classic line is already quoted up there along with 2 pictures, and I am so sorry that I have had not edit them. Anyway, keeping the originality is what I do best. Oh, I mean being lazy.

As comparison to Healer, Pinocchio provides less action scenes and abs. So being good at what it is at, we witness more romantic moments between the leads.

I have so much to say about this couple, especially Shin Hye’s acting. It is not that I am being an ultimate mean hater, but to be frank *hiccup*, her acting has not *hiccup* been improving since The Heirs. I truly feel bad for the Korean industry in terms of finding good actresses. It seems like all the good ones are getting a little tiny bit too old for acting as a young ladies. Think about it, we have gone through You Came From The Stars, Can You Hear My Voice, Secret Garden (okay that’s an old drama)…. Fine, just forget what I said and let’s thank Shin Hye for making good efforts in acting out that romantic kiss scene. She deserves high praise and compliments for that.

Thus, let’s end this post with a nice quote from Pinocchio too. “The secret that I want to keep hidden was found out by the one person who never should’ve known.”

Secret Door

secret door

To say that I wasn’t disappointed by the ending of this drama would be a BIG huge lie. The 24th episode marked the death of Prince Sado, though the last line of the series made it more incomprehensible and ruined everything. Seriously, this is by far the most complicated wrap-up I ever come across and I am not even the slightest aware of who is who any more. So please do spare me a little explanation if you happen to understand here and there.

secret door ep 2

I have been chasing this show ever since it is premiered, and waiting attentively every Monday and Tuesday for new episodes. Throughout the series, we witness how slowly the prince learns how to play politics and how quickly he is deposed from his title. Only God knows how to count the number of times he is reinstated then dismissed again. Even I got annoyed a bit by this plot, but then again we have to credit the writers’ imagination and creativity. Because according to the history, he is remembered as a series killer so it would be rightful for us to despise him, like how one would abhor Hitler and write him as the main villain in WWII.

kimtaek

secretdoor climax

Coming back to the very first episode, I miss the outgoing Prince Sado. Despite of his weakness in hiding his emotions and raging actions, I really appreciate his honesty and quickness in making BAD decisions. At least, that was how he reminds me of my brusqueness. Then again, there is Kim Taek, that one minister who knows which string on the guitar to pluck on and plays the show. The confidence that outbursts from him and all the foul plays he has done are entertaining. And that’s what makes this series unique in its own way. Starting form the very first episode to the mid of the series, Kim Taek was the dominant predator who outsmarts everyone in politics (knowing how to play along with the enemies and set a trap for them), only to fall into his own trap in the end. Kudos to Prince Sado!

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 11.13.38 PM

But the sad part of everything is how quickly the success of Prince Sado decelerated into nothing. I was angry at his wife, hating how her one false move put the prince’s life in peril. Perhaps I have been holding too much expectation on her ever since she fantastically wraps up some of the conflicts encountered by Prince Sado. It’s just that I didn’t know that she would be so dumb and narrow-minded in the end. Like how Prince Sado is smarter than Kim Taek in his ploy, the princess’s father is the dumber version of herself. My, my….. Because of him, all those faithful, loyal retainers’ sacrificed lives for the better will, were thrown into the the trashcan. Just well done, sir, you have all my respect for being so environmental friendly and knowing how to recycle your dumbness. It’s all in vain now.

The dumbest of the dumbest:

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 11.12.07 PM

Okay, maybe not. It’s just that I think playing nice 24/7 won’t be helpful at all, not in the case for a minister who is meant to dance in the midst of dark politics and working at a palace. Come on, it’s the 18th century and we all know how the law works back in those days. Anyway, I like what he said to the prince in one of the episode.

“You are simply reducing their efforts to nothing and you just want to be free from guilt. You can’t protect them, for the nobles will stalk them day and night, wanting to strip the robes off them. So there is only one thing you can protect in the end- your petty pride.”

You Came From The Stars-Episode 19

There is no deny that this is the most favourable and uprising drama that has caught everyone’s hearts. Aside from the hot main actor-Kim Soo Hyun, there is also god-given beautiful main actress to act along with him. And with that, we have a compatible couple. But since we are 2 episodes away from the ending, the results of liking the scriptwriter or not will depend on the drama’s own fate. So….is there anyone hoping for a bad ending? Because I am so going to knock your head.

Golden Rainbow-Episode 30

It’s a heart-wrentching episode and whatever bad omens we have expected earlier on are really happening now. And once more, all we could do is anticipate good things to wrap up the scars, blood, tears and break-ups. Other than that, there is nothing much to would come up in my mind. But at least, the drama has finally reached its climax and we can let the authors and scripters pull the strings of our hearts with conflics other than the fake Ha Bin issue.

As Jo Kwang Do- the guy who dedicated himself to his boss’s dirty job and probably the only one who knew all his dark secrets died in this episode, we wonder how the prosecutor and the police are going to prove the person behind him guilty.

At some point in life, there will be moments where you can hold yourself up and you can’t help but drunk yourself, intoxicate yourself and let yourself cry. As for Do Young’s case, it’s much more serious than that. It’s the feeling of having to let go of your loved one when you have waited for her so long and tried so hard to have her on your side.

Uh-oh!

His hair colour sure has something to do with his change of personality. Say bye bye to happy-go-lucky Do Young, folks.

This family is a parody of joke. I don’t get it.

As for this lady….well, let’s just say she has got bad-timing in everything. We really reallly pray that you won’t lose your child this time!
