A Valid Love

When it first premiered, I quickly dismissed it for its lack of sense for romance and hot guys. Forget about the mushy and lovey-dovey scenes. I must admit that I am becoming more desperate for eye-candy actors lately, especially after getting myself obsessed with old, veteran actors from Secret Door. It was a bad decision- to think Valid Love is not valid enough as a romance drama, because I thought Pride and Prejudice was more promising among all for the Monday-Tuesday drama slot. Thankfully, it didn’t take me long to realise my mistake. Just what heroic contribution did I do to deserve such fortune? Heh

But then again, I started off at the wrong episode, wrong perceptions and wrong reviews. Everyone was complaining how Jang Hee Tae is a boring, demanding husband who lacks of understanding towards his wife. Then, there was his mother who did all the villain parts, and showed us how il Ri should just divorce his husband and stop becoming this family’s abusing object. What is there to reject when there is a heartthrob guy who is about your age and can open your heart when you choose to keep your feelings to yourself. Because everything seemed to be so wrong all at the same time and place, for this poor woman, I was convinced that her husband was surely a bastard. I just quietly allow the reviews eat my soul away.

Did I mention how the drama’s plot beautifully picture the situation that someone I am close to is facing now? Gender equality is what feminists want and wish to achieve. Extramarital affair is what fanatic feminists think it is okay to do. Worst, we have fans shipping for the forbidden love in this drama. And honestly speaking, I am one of them. But hey, what’s drama for again?

Anyway, if you happen to be an underage, innocent child reading this post, please do understand that love is love and marriage is marriage. For as far as I understand, feelings are neither right nor wrong. But having an affair while being married with a spouse is morally wrong. Very very wrong. So, if you are wondering which side you should be in this controversial topic, take my advice to follow Hee Soo noona. She is after all the only one who makes sense in this show.

So, in the end, it was the hyperventilating scene that captured my attention. I even attempted to act out that moment, because I was very curious if it does actually help this kind of trauma. Well, I just need a bigger palm, y’know.

Quotes again:

” How could I suspect my wife over just a few photos, after being married with her for 7 years? ” By Jung Hee Tae in Episode 8.
